The Insight

Since I was in the military, I’ve always trained on the iconic “Striking Don” punching dummies. It’s agro white male face always triggered me as it was designed to do so. I often wished it looked like Trump, but as fun as that would be to hit it, what would that really do at the end of the day?

The Idea

The “Striking Don” is a physical art piece that is being used to launch the #KNOCKHIMOUTOFOFFICE campaign by partnering with grassroots organizations focused on GOTV activities and voter/mail-in ballot registration. By developing creative content around the Striking Don, we can increase attention to voter engagement campaigns. Our goal is to inspire voter turnout and galvanize young activists whose belief in our political system has been justifiably depleted.

 

Hit Him Where It Counts

While it might feel good in the moment to strike a dummy, it will do nothing productive. Our strategy is to use the artwork to elicit, then redirect our anger into voter registration efforts to ensure we knock Trump out of office this November.
